Our family has over 40 years’ experience and all work is guaranteed.  In addition to new stonework, we offer a full restoration and cleaning service for your existing stone and additional inscription, after which even the oldest memorial will look brand new.

MADE TO REMEMBER

Every memorial from Holmes and Family is bespoke and made to order, the stone used is marble, granite or slate, usually sourced from Italy, but can be from further afield too.  Once you decide, the permit can be applied for.  Once the permit is granted, a 75% deposit is paid and the stone is cut, polished and the inscription added.  These days, machines are often used for that part of the work, which means club or professional logos and images are also possible.  People often ask how soon after the funeral has taken place can the memorial order be placed? In some cemeteries, it can begin immediately, in others, 6 months must pass, with completion usually around 4 months from order. Once the memorial is complete and erected, the final balance of 25% is due.

Headstones or memorials must be fixed in a very specific way to be compliant with stringent Health and Safety rules.  You may have noticed in your local cemetery that stones are often laid flat because they were not properly fixed.  Our memorials are always properly fixed, saving you the distress and worry of seeing the memorial laid flat in that way.  Not all suppliers are the same, national companies found online can seem less expensive, but we guarantee as a local business, our prices are competitive.
